OCR: Compact Pro User's Guide 3 Using Compact Pro About Archives Compact Pro creates documents called archives. One archive can hold the data for many files and folders on your Macintosh. You may add files to an archive, eliminate files from an archive, or copy files from an archive to other folders on your Macintosh. Archives provide a simple method of grouping related files to reduce clutter on the Macintosh desktop and your backup disks. Archives contain their own type of folder that is similar to the ones on the Macintosh's desktop (you can move whole groups of files/folders from your desktop to an archive, or vice versa, in one operation).
